Welcome & How to Use This Program

Use this lesson to understand the structure of the program before you begin.
The Big Picture
Four phases. One simple progression.
The goal is to gradually give your foot more capacity—not simply avoid everything that causes discomfort. You will progress based on what your foot can tolerate rather than automatically moving forward because a certain number of weeks have passed.
Phase 1
Reduce irritability, keep walking as comfortable as possible, maintain mobility, and introduce tolerable loading.
Phase 2
Build meaningful calf and plantar fascia strength with progressively heavier resistance.
Phase 3
Restore quick elastic contacts and progressively reintroduce running.
Phase 4
Restore full training and transition rehab exercises into maintenance.
How to Progress
You do not need zero pain
Mild symptoms can be acceptable when they remain stable and return to your usual baseline by the following morning. Each phase includes a Ready to Progress? checklist to help you decide when to move forward.
Important: If a phase takes longer than the suggested timeframe, that does not mean the program is failing. The timeframes are orientation only.
Educational Use
A self-guided program has limits
This program provides general educational and exercise guidance and is not a substitute for an individualized examination, diagnosis, or treatment plan. If you have a significant injury, worsening symptoms, difficulty bearing weight, neurologic symptoms, or concerns about whether this program fits your presentation, seek an appropriate in-person evaluation.
