In this video, you will learn how to do standing hip abduction with a band.
1. Start with a resistance band around your ankles and attached to a solid anchor
2. Slightly turn your outside foot inwards
3. Abduct your leg as far as you can without compromising your form
4. Hold at top position for a split second and then return to starting position
Make sure that you maintain control of the band and don’t let yourself fling your leg back to the starting position. You can use your inside arm to help stabilize but the less that you use your arm, the more you will feel it in the hips and not just the outside hip but also the inside hip as it works to stabilize.
