In this video, you will learn how to do a triplanar dynamic calf stretch with a slant board by Dr. Brian Damhoff.
Stretching the calves in more than one plane is a fantastic way to gain mobility! Unlike regular stretching, triplanar stretching addresses how your muscle moves in all directions. It can be great as part of a warm-up or cooldown, especially for runners.
If you don’t have a slant board, find an object around the house that you can use to create an angle. You could use bags boards, a doorstop, car ramps, old books, etc but you will find the stretch way more effective by increasing the angle. It will also prevent this stretch from becoming an arm workout as well!
