Patient testimonials

I am a runner and have been for the past 7 years. In the past 2 years I have been dealing with what I was told was plantar fasciitis by several "professionals". I was told many ways to fix it and all of those ways costing a lot. My situation was urgent since I was accepted to run the Chicago marathon in 2022. A friend of mine recommended I see Dr. Brian Damhoff, who is also a runner and coach. I figured since he was a runner, he would understand my situation and give me an accurate diagnosis of my situation. Immediately he was able to determine that my issue was not plantar but a tendon issue. By strengthening my legs, calves, glutes, and other areas, it would correct the issue and prevent it from happening in the future. He gave me exercises to do at home as well as weekly sessions with him. Three month before my marathon race, I decided to increase my sessions with him to ensure I avoid injury as my miles increased during training. I started my marathon feeling confident that I would not be injured and completed it. His run tips and experience were key to my training and race and I look forward to working with him on my other planned races in the future.

Dr. Damhoff is excellent at treating injuries. I have come in countless times in both high school and college, and each time Dr. Damhoff was able to accurately diagnose what was causing me pain, whether it be tendinitis or other types of injuries that commonly happen to runners. The rehab worked wonders and always got me back to running quickly, and the exercises still help me avoid injury even now. I highly recommend him for anyone looking to treat injuries, especially athletes.

I’m a runner who has started having some hip and ankle pain. I’ve been wanting to get some advice on preventing injury as well as advice on how to improve my running times. I am so glad I found Dr. Brian! He is a runner himself and you can tell that he is passionate about the sport and his clients. He did a running analysis of me outside and gave me a very thorough explanation of what might be causing my issues. He also has a gym in his office and was able to show me exercises that could help me as well! I highly recommend Dr. Brian to all runners!

I’m a D1 college distance runner and I had Achilles problems for around half a year before coming in and nothing seemed to be helping. My coach recommended Dr. Brian and he gave me a plan to follow and explained the reasoning behind everything. Eventually just by sticking to the plan I was able to run again and go back to setting personal bests!

Before meeting Dr. Brian, I was HIGHLY skeptical of using chiropractors (previous bad experiences). But I had an injury I saw a specialist about multiple times and just couldn't recover. Upon recommendation from an associate, who talked very highly of him, I decided to take a chance with Dr. Brian. I was nervous to try him bc I am NOT an athlete by any means. But Dr. Brian not only helped me heal, he taught me specific stretches and exercises to build muscle and prevent it from happening again. Coming from the medical field myself, I really appreciated his science-based methods. Dr. Brian is warm, friendly, professional, and obviously cares a great deal about his patients. I cannot recommend him highly enough!
