We find that with what we do most issues clear up in 4-8 visits. Some cases are on the lower end and some on the higher end.
Do I need a referral?
No, you can just call our office to schedule an appointment. There are a few insurance plans that require a referral but they are few and far in-between and we can check that.
What conditions do you treat?
We care for patients of all ages, with a variety of conditions. We commonly see patients with shoulder, knee, hip, ankle, wrist, back and neck pain. We work with a wide range of injuries and disorders of the musculoskeletal system, involving the muscles, ligaments and joints. If you have questions, please feel free to use our contact us page to ask!
What is the first visit like?
After you schedule an appointment, you’ll receive the new patient paperwork which can be filled out on a computer, smart phone, tablet, etc. You will need to fill that out before your first visit. On the first visit, Dr. Damhoff will review your new patient information along with taking a detailed thorough history of your condition. After that, Dr. Damhoff will perform an exam of the affected areas and take a look at the biomechanics of the issue. The site of pain is not always the site of dysfunction! Then, Dr. Damhoff performs treatment consisting of ART, adjusting and specific rehab depending on your condition, you can read more about our services here.
Do you take x-rays of every patient?
We do not take x-rays in our clinic. If your condition warrants x-rays based on the history and exam, then we will refer you out for x-rays. However, we take x-ray exposure very seriously and will only refer out if your condition warrants it.
Will I receive treatment the first day I come in?
Absolutely, you’re coming in because you’re in pain and it’s our job to get you out of pain as fast as possible!
Do you make patients sign up for a lengthy treatment plan?
No, we dictate care based on you and your issue. You will never be told that it will take 32 visits to fix your low back on your first visit and that you have to sign up for it that day. While every person is different, generally, patients are seen 4-6 visits for a condition although it depends upon your condition.
Does it hurt?
Dr. Damhoff provides gentle adjustments and most people describe the Active Release Technique (ART), the soft tissue work that Dr. Damhoff does, as a good hurt.
Can I get an appointment on the weekend?
Absolutely! Dr. Damhoff has convenient hours for the week and weekend. Since he coaches high school sports, we don’t have set weekend hours but almost every weekend we see patients in the clinic according to his availability. Just give us a call 331-472-4326 to inquire!
How long does a treatment take?
Dr. Damhoff spends approximately 30 minutes with each patient making sure that he thoroughly understands the problem and giving you the best treatment. He also ensures that you never walk out the door with any questions.
